Iconofly is gathering together its readers again. Those enlightened adventurers a world away from obsequious bootlickers, who know - in the same way the figure 7 is the symbol of wisdom - that the boot IS the sign of the unattainable.
This is because fantasies reign in the collective memory; even if they have a way of distorting reality, they still throw light on more aesthetic worlds than actually exist, where one can invent other imaginary lives. One of these dreams is that pure beauty should be a good 7 leagues distant from commonplace things; Perrault’s boots must be donned to get anywhere close to this kind of splendour.
Iconofly is dedicating its fourth issue to crural decoration and exploring this path to Nirvana for the wearer. This unique journal, devoted to tales of art and luxuries, herewith unveils its secret boot, key figures, the history and mysteries of its manufacture. It also offers 7 iconic artists a chance to be inspired by the boot and create a collector’s work. All of those represented here have responded beautifully to the challenge. Because the boot is key for those who want to reach 7th heaven and march off to see the 7 wonders of the world.
