Nicolas Rey

The man with long pepperand-salt hair had always dreamt of his life in Technicolor. In fact, after attending business school, he was tempted by cinema. But the difficulty of getting into the film world, convinced him to put his trust in his writing skills and apply his full energy into being an author. Readers quickly fell for him: he received the prestigious Prix de Flore for his second book Mémoire Courte. He became a regular columnist both on French TV and in the French press Tecknikart, Zurban and Le Figaro. A self-proclaimed free agent, he also likes to describe himself as “a loafer in action”.

First memory
During childhood, glasses are usually worn by the smart pupils. The flip side is that glasses are seen as a handicap. And those who wear them have neither
friends nor girlfriends. I had bad grades, but cute girlfriends.

First sensation
I am short-sighted. And I can tell you all about the syndrome of disorganised people who lose their glasses ten times a day… for the sheer pleasure of finding them again! That’s me in a nutshell, and I do enjoy reaching that higher plane whenever I can. On another note, there’s something I do enjoy watching: the way female movie critics wait until the movie theatre is completely dark before putting their glasses on. It cracks me up!

Last wish
A pair of glasses impossible to lose: with built-in GPS !
