The Plural Sculpture is a classic of interactive internet art.  Since the summer of 1995, this interactive sculpture has been unfolding on the web, in collaboration with Visual Art Division Purchase College and the American online system (Ada Web). Contributors were asked about their aspirations concerning social/political/spiritual change, their utopias and their hopes; and about art as a possible medium for this. The first 230 responses were published by the Public Art Fund, New York and exhibited at the New York Kunsthalle in September 1995.

Ealiest memories
During the SecondWorldWar, I remember the destruction of a family watch, and the loss of another. I was four years old. My parents would ask me to «Go and see what the time is» on the public clock in the nearest square. My “mission” was “to tell the time.” It was very important to me.

First feelings
For me, the watch is the most heroic object in the fight against obscurantism. With the invention of the watch, no religious leader can ever oppose or appropriate the rule of time.

Last wishes
Watches could get smaller and smaller, who knows? And maybe implanted in the body?
