Win an original artwork!
The British fashion house Mulberry, in collaboration with the gallery FRED, announces a series of artist designed, limited edition tote bags. Simon English, who took part to our boots issue, has now produced an original design inspired by Rebecca, the famous novel by Daphnée du Maurier.
The tote bags and their original designs are displayed until the 9th of November at the Mulberry flagship store, New Bond Street, W1 London. The lucky customer who finds a “Golden Ticket” in his bag will win the artist’s original design.
Hommages au carré
Hermès - Joseph Albers
Hermès scarves and Albers’ squares : a natural association.
This most worthwhile challenge involves creating flawless silk print reproductions of the work of the artist.
Joseph Albers (1888-1976), a master of Bauhaus and one of the initiators of Op Art, explored chromatic variations with precise geometric form in his «homage to the square» series of works.
Under its new label « Hermès Editeur » the well-known luxury goods house is faithfully reproducing six of these works, each in a limited edition of 200 printed copies numbered by hand. The so-called ‘edge to edge’ technique specially created for this occasion has eliminated any visible graphic borders between blocks of colour so that they align with no overlapping.
